Sensor Installation Guide

Complete guide for installing and configuring an AirChain sensor.

Hardware Required

  • Raspberry Pi Pico W
  • PMS5003 air quality sensor
  • A7670SA 4G module
  • Solar panel (10W)
  • LiPo battery (2S, 5000mAh)
  • Weatherproof enclosure
  • Mounting hardware

Total cost: ~₦150,000

Step 1: Hardware Assembly

  1. Connect PMS5003 to Pico (UART)
  2. Connect A7670SA to Pico (UART)
  3. Install battery management system
  4. Mount solar panel
  5. Secure in weatherproof enclosure

Step 2: Firmware Installation

# Download firmware
wget https://firmware.airchain.ng/latest.uf2

# Flash to Pico
# 1. Hold BOOTSEL button
# 2. Connect USB
# 3. Copy .uf2 file to RPI-RP2 drive

Step 3: Configuration

  1. Connect to sensor via USB
  2. Open serial terminal
  3. Enter WiFi credentials
  4. Enter sensor location
  5. Register on dashboard

Step 4: Installation

  1. Mount at 3-5 meters height
  2. Face solar panel south
  3. Ensure good 4G signal
  4. Secure all cables
  5. Test readings
