Sensor Installation Guide¶
Complete guide for installing and configuring an AirChain sensor.
Hardware Required¶
- Raspberry Pi Pico W
- PMS5003 air quality sensor
- A7670SA 4G module
- Solar panel (10W)
- LiPo battery (2S, 5000mAh)
- Weatherproof enclosure
- Mounting hardware
Total cost: ~₦150,000
Step 1: Hardware Assembly¶
- Connect PMS5003 to Pico (UART)
- Connect A7670SA to Pico (UART)
- Install battery management system
- Mount solar panel
- Secure in weatherproof enclosure
Step 2: Firmware Installation¶
# Download firmware
wget https://firmware.airchain.ng/latest.uf2
# Flash to Pico
# 1. Hold BOOTSEL button
# 2. Connect USB
# 3. Copy .uf2 file to RPI-RP2 drive
Step 3: Configuration¶
- Connect to sensor via USB
- Open serial terminal
- Enter WiFi credentials
- Enter sensor location
- Register on dashboard
Step 4: Installation¶
- Mount at 3-5 meters height
- Face solar panel south
- Ensure good 4G signal
- Secure all cables
- Test readings
